When planning to have a storage container delivered, it’s essential to ensure there’s enough space not only for the container itself but also for the delivery vehicle and its operation. Here’s a breakdown of the space requirements needed to facilitate the smooth delivery of our various container sizes.

For 10′ and 20′ Containers

Our 10’ and 20’ storage containers are delivered using a straight, one-piece flatbed truck, which is 28’ long. To successfully deliver a 20’ container, we need a straight path of about 60’ in length. The required space for a 10’ container decreases slightly to about 50’. This space allows the truck to safely maneuver and slide the container off the back without any hindrance.

For 40′ Containers

The delivery of our 40’ storage containers requires a bit more space due to their size and the vehicle used. These containers are transported on a tractor-trailer combo unit that spans approximately 70’ in length. For these, an unobstructed straight path of about 120’ is necessary for delivery. Additionally, because of the larger size and configuration of the delivery vehicle, the entrance to the delivery site must be adequately wide. A minimum driveway width of 10′ is required to ensure the tractor-trailer can enter and operate on the property safely.

Site Access and Final Decisions

It’s also crucial to consider the overall accessibility of the delivery site. Obstacles like low-hanging branches, tight turns, or steep inclines can impact the ability to deliver. Our experienced drivers will assess the delivery site and have the final say in determining whether a safe delivery is feasible. This precaution helps avoid any potential damage to your property or our equipment.

By understanding and preparing for these space requirements, you can help ensure a hassle-free delivery process for your storage container. Preparing your site according to these guidelines not only assists our drivers but also protects your investment in efficient and effective onsite storage solutions.
